Happy 1st Birthday Jared!

Happy Birthday Jared! Our little baby has been with us for a whole year! Time has really flown by and we love our little Jared! Emily and Madison are visiting us and we got to celebrate by going to the splash playground where Jared enjoyed playing in the water and eating watermelon! Then we had a little party with a Cars ice cream cake and presents. Jared really loved it all...especially the cake, as can be seen by the pictures. After his bath, he got to play with his toys and enjoyed those too. Thanks everyone!

The first bite of cake:

Here are a few things about Jared's personality and the things he likes:

1. He loves playing with cars and "driving" them on the floor

2. He is such a mellow and easy-going baby...I couldn't have asked for a better one.

3. He is really sensitive and when he cries, it just breaks your heart!

4. He loves balloons and we've gotten some really good video of him laughing and laughing when they're near him

5. Tricks he's up to: Words (or sounds, really) that Jared says now are da da, ma ma, more, and other coos. He's also a good waver, when he feels like it. And he enjoys crawling and pulling himself up to things. He really just does things on his own time.

6. He loves being sung to...it really soothes him. My favorite is when he sings along!

7. This boy has gourmet taste buds. No more baby food for him. The more seasoned and flavorful his food is, the better he likes it!

8. Our nickname for him is Mater because his toothy grin reminds us of Mater in the Cars movie.
